  • Accumulation of fluid in foot
  • Obesity or overweight condition. This increases pressure on the entire foot and may result in strain on the ball of the foot leading to development of metatarsalgia
  • Muscle fatigue can also help in development of metatarsalgia

If your shoes are culprit, change it immediately. Wearing best fitting footwear is important not only for preventing metatarsalgia but for other abnormalities related to heel, joint and toe. Always use shoes with cushioned arch and broad toe area.
