Soothe Sunburned Skin with Skin-soothing Botanicals
Summer beckons but the chances of getting sunburned skin can be daunting. Don’t let painful sunburned skin get in the way. Soothe sunburned skin by applying natural and plant-based extracts. The natural away is by far soothing without side effects.
Start with Aloe Vera plant. This can be grown indoors. Fresh aloe leaves will provide just the sufficient amount of natural skin-soothing botanicals for your sunburned skin. Once applied on affected areas aloe vera forms a shielding fence to lock in moisture preventing the skin from getting dehydrated. Another way to soothe sunburned skin is to apply a washcloth soaked in milk. Dab on the painful area to take out the heat from the affected skin. Yogurt is not only taken in it can also be a good balm for sunburned skin. It can be applied directly to sunburned skin. This is one product which has the ingredient lidocaine. Lidocaine is very effective for relieving the pain in sunburned skin at the same time acting s an anesthetic.
Peppermint tea bags or tea with tannic acid can help promote healing. Another tea ingredient called theobromine also encourage healing of the sunburned skin. The way to do it is by brewing a

To get away as much as possible from chemically processed sunburned ointments try using vinegar. This versatile condiment can also be used to soothe sunburned skin. This has been proven to be quite effective. Soak some small hand towels in a pail of vinegar and with a light touch dab at the sunburned skin. Another variation is to put vinegar in a spray bottle and dilute it with a small proportion of water. Then spritz it locally to the affected skin. Another suggestion is to soak brown paper bags in vinegar and use it as a soothing agent. Go mad over eggs. Egg whites are said to act as a natural skin soothing agent. Blend the separated whites of eggs and spread on the sunburned skin by using a spatula or moist towel. The cooling effect is fast. Or maybe still a soothing spray of lavender mist will do the trick. This can even be used as refresher for the body right after a dip in the pool or a swim in the ocean.
When sunburned pain has gone to the head it won’t be harmful to take some over-the-counter analgesic. Best of all take vitamin supplements such as vitamin C and A, carotene and flaxseed oil. This is to soothe sunburned skin inside and out. They either come in liquid form or capsule form. Flaxseed in powder form can be added to breakfast cereal, yogurt, soups and casseroles. But the most you can is to stay from the heat of the sun as much as possible.
