School Lunch and Its Preparations

School life in a child is one of classmates, friends, sports and lunch.  Not necessarily in that order.  For moms school lunch is much ado about the right nutritional foods for their mop heads.  It is never easy to pack lunch especially for a picker.  You will need all the help you can muster.  

But most schools are providing lunch for the kids.  But there could be a downside.  Lunch is liberalize.  The kids call the shots.  And they eat anything they fancy.  The child is afforded a wide array of unhealthy mix of foods.   And the child might decide to buy what the other kids are eating, usually junk. 



Moms are up to the challenge.  They are searching for a menu that handy, easy to prepare, and especially attractive to the kids.  School lunch must be assured to be eaten and tossed or bartered.  Experts to the rescue.  A website is offering some suggestions how to put together packed lunches for their school kids.  

Make it fun.  Choosing the menu should include the kids.  Play a game.  And the kids get to choose their lunch recipe through cards where foods are written and on the other side pictures of food groups.  School lunch involvement should include nutritious shopping at the grocery.  Allow the kids to pick out some fancy food as potato sticks.  This is not exactly the kind of carbo which can make overweights of kids.  They whiz, zip, metabolism is fast.  Before you knew it, they have burned up all the unwanted calories.

Make vegetable part of their lunch menu and get the kids excited about them.  Let them try gardening and researching about the different vegetable of different countries.  That could be fun and interesting.  Make it a learning experience.  As you go along, teach them food safety.  Safety in food handling like when it is hot, it hurts. Foods which need refrigeration should not be a much a possible included in the packed lunch.  As this kid of food easily spoils and can be harmful to the child.

The last but not the least make it fun and enjoyable.  Put something that will surprise the kid.  Small things that will make eating lunch a pleasure.  Hands craft the packages with a touch of your creativity.  Now is the time to put your expertise into practice.  Let the kids be the first beneficiary of your art in food and in packaging.    

But school lunch prepared in schools has improved through the years.  They are staring to meet the required standards for calorie and fat and protein recommendations.   They are striving to serve better dishes, such as grilled chicken, sandwiches and salads.  But still nothing beats the lunch prepared by nice moms at home.  Just a little effort and love, the lunch will be gone in minutes.

But there are days moms cannot do lunch.  The practical rule is to persuade the little kids to choose cafeteria meals that include fruits, vegetables and choose milk or water as drink.  You still have hand in his or her lunch.
